What is NextGen Handball Europe

NextGen Handball Europe is more than just a tournament.

NextGen Handball Europe is an international European youth handball tournament created for young female and male athletes who are ready to take their first or next step onto the European stage. It brings together clubs from across the continent in a high-quality, open, and inclusive competition format.

The event is open to all handball clubs, with no qualification requirements,

Hosted in the beautiful coastal city of Poreč, Croatia, the tournament combines competitive handball, excellent sports infrastructure, and a festival-like atmosphere in a safe, compact, and welcoming destination.

Competition details

The competition at NextGen Handball Europe consists of two main phases: Group Stage & Elimination & Ranking Phase.
The system ensures that all teams continue to compete for final placement, from 1st place to the last position, until the final day of the tournament

IHF - Rules of the Indoor Handball

Group stage followed by knockout / ranking matches.

Guaranteed minimum 6 matches per team.

Match duration in all categories:
2 x 15 minutes

Medals, trophies and individual awards per each category.

Each age category consist of 16 teams. Teams are divided into 4 groups of 4 teams .

Single round-robin format. Each team plays 3 matches in the group – on 21 September and 22 September.

All teams advance to the elimination phase, but into different competition paths.

Top 2 teams qualify for the Main Quarterfinals. 3rd and 4th teams qualify for the Placement Quarterfinals.
